All About Layering 4 - AECP

As I am continuing on my journey towards becoming an Altenew Educator I am learning a lot of new things and am being reminded of others.

I am learning how to set up and edit a blog, researching how to be able to post affiliate links for the products I use and love.  So much to learn.  I am really enjoying the creative process and remembering how I use to hold workshops and teach others how to create cards etc. for themselves.

The second course I took went into even more depth on layering of stamps.  I really like the detail you are able to add by using different colors to stamp an image.  For example, on this card I created I used 3 different colors on the flower in the background - this flower had 3 different stamps to create the shading/coloring.  On the flower in the foreground, I used 2 colors.  The leaves were also stamped using 2 colors.

My favorite flowers in nature are the variegated ones - flowers with multiple colors that are bright and fun.  That was my inspiration for these coneflowers from the Altenew Coneflower Layering stamp set.  I used Tickled Pink Fresh Dye ink for the base layer.  I stamped it once on scrap paper to tame it down a little as it is a very bright pink.  But I love how this pink looks with the blues I chose - Crystal Violet & Indigo Skies.  For the leaves I used Jade and Eucalyptus.  All the inks used were Altenew Fresh Dye inks.  I stamped the sentiment in Obsidian Black and then added clear embossing powder to really make the image crisp.  I did a light ink blending of the pink onto pink cardstock from the Pink Gradient cardstock mix.  I thought it made a nice backdrop for my two flowers.  The flowers were die cut - one time for the back flower and 5 times for the front flower.  The 5 layers were then glued together which makes a nice sturdy image to add to the card.  That little bit of dimension adds visual interest to the card.

To finish off this card I mounted the pink panel onto white cardstock and then onto a navy card base.  I added a little bakers twine I had in my stash to the side.  Lastly, I add a little Wink of Stella clear glitter to the center of the flowers.

This was a fun project and I love seeing how different a card can look using the same stamp set but in different colors.  See my previous post All About Layering 3 to see this flower in yellows and oranges.

Let me know what you think.
